The Challenge

With a small team of 12 healthcare Cleaner’s, we wanted to deliver the highest level of cleaning service to the hospital. We started with paper run sheets but knew we had to do better. We had no visibility with reporting and auditing was incredibly time consuming and didn’t produce better outcomes.

  1. Complying with NSW Health Auditing Requirements

  2. Transparent Reporting to the Hospital

  3. Ways to communicate with workforce who speak English as a Second Language

The Solution

iClean allowed us to communicate really clearly with our staff what needed to be cleaned and how to clean it. We also use Continuous Improvement for our Environmental Services audits that are done monthly across the hospital. We instantly had access to live reports about what was being completed as well as our audit results. We were able to share these results directly with the hospital so everyone knows how we are tracking.

The Impact

iClean has helped us to build trust with the hospital and sharing the transparent results allows us to work together as team and ensure we are achieving high quality outcomes. Our cleaner’s feel supported and now have a clear way to know exactly what to clean, even if they are in a different section of the hospital.

One of the biggest impacts iClean made for us is around our external accreditation with NSW Health. When auditors first saw iClean in use at the hospital they were blown away. Our cleaners were able to explain to the auditors how they kew what to clean, exactly what tasks were required for each clean type, their training records and how to report issues. When they came back the next year, they asked us if we were still using the system. We answered “Of Course” and they just ticked the box. It made us feel good, Royal Rehab feel good and NSW Health feel good.
